altiGOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL

November 2nd, 2008 | By: Steve | 3 Comments

Our boy made history on Saturday, November 1, 2009 when he notched his first goal seconds after coming off the bench in the 90th minute. This marks the first goal by an capped US National Team player in La Liga play.

It was a siliky smooth finish too, after a great diagonal run into the box and a perfect pass from Santi Cazorla, Jozy slotted it into the bottom left corner.

I am not big on his celebration, but his 9 year old in a candy shop smile was worth at least this $10mn transfer fee.

Congratulations kid, and we hope to see a whole bunch more.

Video Update

A beauty of a goal by Jozy against a deflated Cuba side on Saturday. Altidore took on a broke down a Cuban defender before slotting home near post past the keeper. Shows he might be learning a thing or two even as he rides the pine in La Liga. The goal is here at [...]

Altidore on the board, Team USA lets one get away

By: Steve | Comments 4 Comments

Altidore came on as a sub and scored with his knee off a blistering cross from Michael Orozco who was once again impressive on both sides of the field. It was such a hard cross that Jozy simply had to get in its way to put it in.

Jozy Quotables

By: Steve | Comments 1 Comment

By the looks of it, Jozy isn’t happy with number 12 either. On the even of the Olympic games, the US team finished the ING tournament with no goals, 2 ties and a 1-0 loss to Cameroon. The lack of goals may be disconcerting heading into the Olympic [...]
